I Spy

+
The classic childhood game I Spy can easily be adapted to a fun baby shower game that will help mom capture candid moments she otherwise may have missed while enjoying her special day. Before the baby shower, think of some moments guests are likely to witness: mom rubbing her belly, hugging her mom, or gushing over a cute onesie. Write the prompts down and pass them out to guests. You can either give each guest a disposable camera or encourage them to snap photos on their cell phones whenever they spot the mom-to-be doing one of the action items you listed. (Tip: come up with a clever hashtag that guests can use to share on social media. That way, the mom-to-be can easily browse through the hashtag and see what her guests caught on camera!)

Guess Mommy’s Belly Size

For this baby shower game, we recommend checking with the mom-to-be ahead of time to make sure it’s something she’s comfortable with. If she is, this is a great option for a fun shower game, especially if you are on a budget. All you need for this game is some scissors and string. Guests will each come up and estimate how much string it takes to go around the mom’s baby belly. After each guest snips a piece of string, they’ll then take turns looping it around her middle to see how close they were. The guest who is closest wins!

This next game is fun and helps guests get into the baby shower spirit ahead of the big day. Get a container — we recommend a large, glass jar or a baby bottle — and fill it with candy. Take a photo (or a video) and send it to shower guests. Tell your guests to guess the amount of candy in the container. The person whose guess is closest to the actual amount of candy in the container wins! (Bonus: think of all the candy you get to eat after the baby shower!)

Similar to the Mommy or Daddy game, this baby shower game asks guests to answer questions and try and guess if the answer applies to the mom or dad — but in this game, the parents-to-be answer the questions ahead of time. For example, ask both parents, “Who will be the strictest parent?” Then when you ask the shower guests, they’ll have to guess which one claimed they’d be the strictest parent.

If you’re hosting a baby shower during the month of October, this game might just be the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit. (Even if you don’t host in the month of October, this game is just downright hilarious.) Before the shower, find two types of photos: photos of horror movie scream queens in action and photos of moms in labor. Guests then have to guess whether each photo is of a scream queen or of a mom giving birth. This game is ideal for lovers of horror films or anyone with a great sense of humor.

If your baby shower guest list consists of brave folks who aren’t easily embarrassed, the “What’s in Your Purse/Diaper Bag?” game has the potential for so much fun — and it’s easily adaptable for a remote baby shower! Shower guests get a list of things you’d typically find in a diaper bag — a diaper, baby wipes, a bottle, etc. — or things found in a purse like keys, gum, and more. Then guests have to race to find the listed item! Whoever returns first with the item wins the round.

With a little preparation, you can create a fun and adorable game that involves both the parents-to-be and the baby shower guests with the “Guess the Baby” game. You can take advantage of a few of our WebBabyShower features to help plan and execute this game: Email guests ahead of time and ask them to email you photos of themselves as a baby. Once you get everyone’s photos, use our gallery feature to play the game. Add the photos and have guests submit their guesses as to who each baby photo belongs to using the guestbook feature. Guests can also email the host their guesses. The guest with the most correct answers wins! Check out our guide for more info on how to play this game.

Scavenger Hunt

We love the idea of a virtual scavenger hunt! The rules are simple: The host calls out a baby-related item (a bottle, a diaper, a onesie, etc.), and each guest has a specific amount of time to get up and find that item in their home. The first five guests who find the item get to move on to the next round, and the game continues! To make things even more interesting, we encourage dressing up like a pirate to really get into the spirit of the scavenger hunt.
But even if eye patches and fake parrots aren’t your thing, check out our how-to guide and free download to make this game a smashing success. (Seriously though, consider the pirate thing. It’d be hilarious.)

Remember high school superlatives? Maybe you won “Most Likely to Succeed,” or “Class Clown.” Well, this baby shower game is similar, and it’s fun and easy to play. The host comes up with a list of superlatives that the guests will then assign to either the new mom or dad. There is no “winner” with this game, but if the parents-to-be have a good sense of humor, it’s a great opportunity to get a lot of laughs from baby shower guests. Who will get “Most Likely to Get Peed On,” “Most Likely to Put a Diaper on Backwards,” or “Most Likely to Helicopter Parent”? Bonus: this one is easily adaptable for a virtual baby shower!

Picture it: It’s summer break, your parents are at work, and you’ve just made yourself a nice, big bowl of cereal. What are you plopping down in front of the TV to watch? If you’re a part of Gen X or a millennial, we’re willing to bet The Price Is Right is on your screen. We’ve developed a baby shower version of this beloved TV show, and the best part is that it’s perfect for remote baby showers. (Sorry, America’s favorite game show host Bob Barker is not included.) Using items from the parents’ baby registry, guests will have a limited amount of time to guess the price of selected items. Whoever gets closest to the actual dollar amount of the items without going over wins! Check out our guide on how to play this fun virtual shower game and get a free download.
